Valley View PTA
Hello Wonderful Valley View Families!
Wow! After five months at home…welcome back!!! We look forward to starting on this new (and a bit bumpy) road together. Whether your child is coming back to school or continuing online, we want each child and family to know they belong and are a part of the Valley View community. As a PTA, we are here to support our administrators, teachers, students and families in familiar and new ways. Here are a few examples:
Theme: We are drawing our theme this year from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz: “There is no place like Valley View.” We invite you and your student to read or watch this classic by L. Frank Baum. We plan to use many of its themes on our journey this year.
Connections: Connections matter. Connecting to our school, community, families and students matters. With that, we are thrilled to welcome and connect with our new principal, Mrs. Killpack! Get to know her better here on our first video Field Trip Friday, Meet Principal Killpack (https://youtu.be/DB5SLPwfaWg)
Field Trip Friday: Twice a month we will explore people, places, and professions connected with our Valley View community. Without field trips this year, this original video series will connect students with the world around them. Watch and discover connections to Valley View and YOU!
Valley View S.P.L.A.S.H. Pad (coming soon!): We are thrilled to provide an online resource for parents and students. We are calling this resource the S.P.L.A.S.H. Pad (Student-Parent Learning Activity Support @ Home). This is a great tool for parents and students to SPLASH around and have fun learning to enhance school and at home learning with teacher recommended resources.
Social Media - Facebook & Instagram:
Keep connected! Please, follow the Valley View Falcons PTA on Social Media
Instagram (Instagram.com@VVFalconPTA) &
Student Directory: The PTA will provide a digital school directory. We hope this facilitates class unity and is a resource for parents and students. Numbers will be of the parent(s). If you do not want to have your information included, please fill out the “opt-out” form on the online registration page.
Online Store: Please purchase PTA memberships, T-shirts, and make the suggested $20 per student direct donation at our Online Store (https://valleyviewfalconpta.new.memberhub.store/store).
We need your help to help the students. Thanks for your support!
Volunteers: We understand the parent limitations at this time and hope you will watch for ways your student’s teacher(s) may need volunteer help at school and home. Let’s get creative in how we can help each other, our students and teachers. Please Volunteer
We are so grateful for you and for your wonderful children! We have thought about you and your students a lot over the summer. We love them and appreciate every one of you as parents. You, as well as all of our teachers, have risen to this pandemic challenge. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of us if you have questions, concerns or ideas. The Great Oz said to the Cowardly Lion, “There is no living thing that is not afraid when it faces danger. The true courage is in facing danger when you are afraid, and that kind of courage you have in plenty.”
